He directly holds the Shrine Board responsible for the tragedy, stating that the LG, as the chairman, should have been aware of the high alert and suspended the pilgrimage. He has accused that the deaths of the Vaishno Devi pilgrims were not accidental, but were part of a criminal conspiracy, and has called for a thorough investigation. The Hotel Association has come forward to offer free lodging to those in need, while local residents have organized protests, holding the Shrine Board accountable. Furthermore, the rainfall in Jammu has broken a 115-year-old record.
