The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has gone all guns blazing against West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, alleging a sinister plot to merge the state with Bangladesh. In no uncertain terms, VHP leaders proclaimed that this scheme is doomed to fail spectacularly.
During a high-profile event in Siliguri, VHP general secretary Champat Rai accused the TMC regime of fostering an environment ripe for ‘Bengal’s balkanization.’ ‘Mamata Didi’s governance prioritizes infiltrators over natives. Land grabs, forced conversions, and cultural erosion are rampant. But Bengal’s resilient Hindu spirit will crush these anti-national designs,’ Rai declared.
Highlighting specific cases from North 24 Parganas and other hotspots, he criticized the state police for alleged bias. VHP is mobilizing its cadre for a ‘Bengal Bachao’ campaign, including dharnas and awareness drives across 294 assembly segments. ‘We appeal to all communities to unite against this existential threat,’ he said.
Central BJP leaders have lent support, calling for NRC implementation in Bengal. TMC counters by labeling VHP’s narrative as fear-mongering. As accusations fly, the discourse reveals underlying anxieties about migration, security, and the future of secularism in the state.
This VHP offensive could galvanize conservative voters, setting the stage for a polarized electoral battle.
