The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) unleashed sharp criticism against Tamil Nadu Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin’s purported anti-Sanatana remarks in the legislative assembly, urging their prompt deletion from the official transcript. Describing the comments as a grave violation of democratic norms, VHP leaders rallied for accountability.

Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain invoked International President Alok Kumar’s condemnation, challenging the acceptability of similar attacks on other faiths. Kumar lamented the persistent mockery of Sanatana principles and Hindu devotion, exposing the paradox of beneficiaries turning adversaries.

‘Those gaining from Tamil Nadu’s sacred temples and age-old customs now plot their end,’ Kumar observed. With the state treasury bolstered by temple earnings, such attitudes erode foundational supports, he warned. The VHP implored the Chief Minister to declare the government’s position on safeguarding Hindu sentiments versus tolerating discord.

Immediate action to scrub the records and deter future lapses is non-negotiable, the organization asserted. Jain affirmed Sanatana’s indelible role as the subcontinent’s spiritual core. ‘Countless forces have crumbled in attempts to uproot it, yet Sanatana persists, its vitality and embrace steering humanity forward.’

This confrontation highlights escalating frictions in India’s diverse polity, where utterances on religion can swiftly mobilize masses and reshape alliances.
