Maharashtra is accelerating its infrastructure agenda with Thursday’s cabinet nod to four Vidarbha expressways under CM Devendra Fadnavis’ leadership. These 547-km access-controlled marvels are designed to forge high-speed links between the state’s eastern frontiers and western hubs, promising unprecedented regional synergy.

The lineup features Nagpur-Gondia, Bhandara-Garhchiroli, Nagpur-Chandrapur expressways, and Navegaon More-Konsari-Surajgarh greenfield corridor. Officials received firm orders for rapid execution and deadline adherence, with Fadnavis highlighting their role as ‘crucial connectors for eastern-western Maharashtra and Vidarbha’s transformative development.’

Prioritizing logistics, he called for tying the vital mineral transport Navegaon More-Surajgarh path to Samruddhi Mahamarg. In another forward-thinking directive, a proposed western Maharashtra-Konkan tunnel road study was commissioned, complete with a full project briefing.

‘Our focus on top-tier infrastructure heralds a future of unified, swift, and equitable progress,’ Fadnavis declared, encapsulating the state’s ambitious vision.

Shifting to global ties, Fadnavis greenlit an SPV via CIDCO and Africa India Economic Foundation for Kharghar’s Africa India zone. Highlights: AIBC Tower for 54 African countries’ offices, convention/exhibition venues, heritage centers, incubators, MSME entrepreneurship zones for Africa-India commerce, hospitality, and utilities.

Tech innovation surged with an Industry Department MoU for a 500 MW renewable green data center/AI hub by AM Intelligence Labs, investing ₹1,14,000 crore and creating 800 jobs. Focused on AI model training, processing, and cloud services, it will catalyze investments, jobs, tech growth, renewables, and cement Maharashtra’s status as India’s AI and digital powerhouse.
