Village head beats Dalit man with sneakers in Uttar Pradesh; arrested after video goes viral

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Two males, belonging to the higher caste, have been arrested for thrashing a Dalit man with their sneakers.

One of the alleged accused is the pinnacle of the village.

The incident had taken place round a fortnight in the past at Reta Nagla village in Chappar area, however the police swung into motion solely after a video clip of the incident went viral on social media.

According to experiences, Dinesh Kumar, 41, a Dalit labourer, had allegedly made some feedback concerning the village pradhan, Shakti Mohan Singh, which appeared to have ‘offended’ the latter.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vineet Jaiswal mentioned on Sunday, “We have taken the accused into custody. They have been booked under various sections of the IPC as well as the SC/ST Act.”

In UP’s Muzaffarnagar, a village head and his individuals thrashed a SC youth with slippers in public and threatened him with demise whereas abusing caste slurs.
