Ferozepur, Punjab, is grappling with a disturbing act of violence after a 32-year-old shopkeeper, Naveen Arora, was shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle on Saturday evening. The tragic incident occurred as Arora was making his way home from his shop, close to Dr Sadhu Chand Chowk. According to preliminary reports, the attackers approached Arora on their motorbike, fired at him from a very close distance, and then fled the location. The brazen nature of the attack has raised serious concerns about safety in the region.
Arora was rushed to a local private hospital in a desperate bid to save his life. However, medical personnel confirmed his demise shortly after he was admitted. The assailants remain unidentified, and the investigation to uncover their identities and motives is a top priority for the police.
The Ferozepur police, under the leadership of SSP Bhupinder Singh, have launched a diligent investigation. SSP Singh confirmed that the examination of CCTV footage from the area is a critical part of the ongoing efforts to track down the attackers. He pledged that the police force is committed to ensuring that the culprits are brought to justice swiftly and impartially. Significant police resources have been allocated to the case, with multiple officers working around the clock. Furthermore, the elected representative for Ferozepur (Urban), MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar, has extended his sympathies to the victim’s family and assured them of prompt and firm action against those responsible for this fatal shooting.
