Wheat procurement might rise 10% in 2021-22 advertising yr

The authorities expects to acquire 427.36 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) wheat through the upcoming rabi advertising season (RMS) 2021-22, with the best amount of 135 LMT wheat estimated to be procured from Madhya Pradesh.
In an announcement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution stated, “A total quantity of 427.363 LMT wheat has been estimated for procurement during the forthcoming RMS 2021-22 which is 9.56% more than the 389.93 LMT procured during RMS 2020-21.”
In the present rabi crop season, wheat manufacturing is estimated to succeed in an all-time excessive of 10.92 crore tonnes through the present crop yr (July-June), which is 1.28 per cent increased than the earlier excessive of 10.78 crore tonnes in 2019-20.

Earlier, Punjab was the main state to produce the best amount of wheat for the central pool. However, final yr, Madhya Pradesh took a lead over the state.
