Woman beheads husband, retains head in temple in Tripura’s Khowai district

AGARTALA: A lady allegedly beheaded her 50-year-old husband and saved the blood-soaked head in a plastic bag on the household’s temple in Tripura’s Khowai district within the wee hours of Saturday, a police officer stated.

While Khowai SP Bhanupada Chakraborty stated the explanation behind the killing just isn’t but identified, the couple’s elder son stated his mom has developed a psychological dysfunction not too long ago and underwent therapy by a neighborhood occultist.

The 42-year-old lady was arrested from their residence at Indira Colony village of the district. She was dwelling there along with her husband Rabindra Tanti, a day by day wager, and two minor sons.

“My mother had always been a vegetarian. But she had chicken last night and all of us went to sleep. Suddenly I woke up and saw my father was beheaded. I was shocked to see my mother was standing with a blood-soaked dao (a sharp weapon). When we raised an alarm, she rushed out of the room and kept my father’s head in our temple,” the elder son stated.

She then confined herself to a room from the place the police arrested her. “We have recovered the body and arrested the woman. An investigation has started. A forensic team has visited the place and collected pieces of evidence,” the SP informed PTI.

About the psychological sickness of the accused, Chakraborty stated he can’t touch upon that with no physician’s report.
