    NASA has announced the appointment of Amit Kshatriya, a robotics engineer of Indian origin, as its new Associate Administrator, a top civil service position within the agency. With more than two decades of service, Kshatriya has been instrumental in shaping NASA’s human space exploration programs. Before his current role, he led the ‘Moon to Mars Program’ and contributed significantly to the Artemis campaign. In his new capacity, Kshatriya will oversee NASA’s lunar exploration initiatives. He attended the California Institute of Technology and the University of Texas at Austin. Kshatriya started his NASA career in 2003, working on the robotic assembly of the International Space Station. He is one of a few to have held the position of Mission Control Flight Director. His achievements have been recognized with the NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal and the Silver Snoopy award.
