Indian Railways is set to revise its fare structure from July 1, 2025. The fare adjustments will primarily impact long-distance and AC class travelers, while suburban rail services and monthly pass holders will remain unaffected. Second-class passengers traveling up to 500 km will not face any fare increases. However, those traveling beyond this distance will experience a small increase of about half a paise per kilometer. Non-AC Mail/Express train fares will increase by 1 paise per kilometer. AC class passengers will see a fare increase of 2 paise per kilometer. The changes are designed to manage operational costs without burdening regular commuters. The new fare structure will apply to all tickets booked for travel on or after July 1, 2025.
