    The Emmy Awards, a prestigious recognition in the television and series industry, is highly anticipated each year. The 77th edition of the Emmy Awards was held in 2025. Over the years, India has had the opportunity to win several awards. Let’s explore the instances when India won Emmys.

    Subhash Chandra, a prominent businessman and the founder of Zee TV, received an Emmy Award in the Directorate category in 2011. He was the first Indian to achieve this honor. In 2023, Ekta Kapoor also received the Directorate Award.

    The web series “Delhi Crime,” starring Shefali Shah and Rajesh Tailang, won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2020. This series is based on the Nirbhaya gang-rape case and also features Rasika Dugal.

    Ekta Kapoor, the Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms, received the Directorate Award in 2023, bringing pride to India. This award is considered a major achievement in her career.

    Vir Das, a stand-up comedian from Dehradun, was awarded an Emmy for his Netflix show, “Vir Das: Landing.” He is the only Indian comedian to have won an Emmy. His show was nominated for the International Emmy Award for Best Comedy Series.
