The southwest monsoon of 2025 has become very active across India. Numerous states are witnessing intense rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds due to the monsoon’s influence. The meteorological department has issued alerts to the public and administrations in the affected states, advising them to be vigilant. The monsoon is projected to advance into the remaining areas of West UP, along with Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan within the next 24 hours.

The southwest monsoon is yet to fully establish itself in Delhi-NCR. Despite Delhi experiencing all the conducive conditions like clouds, humidity, and wind, there has been no rainfall in the capital. However, light rain is anticipated in the capital today because of a western disturbance. The period from the 27th to the 29th, especially the 28th, might witness heightened rainfall activity in the capital. The upcoming week holds the potential for significant rainfall.

**Rainfall Prediction for the Next 24 Hours**

The weather department forecasts light to moderate rainfall for western Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan, Vidarbha, and Marathwada over the next day. Northern Punjab, northern Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, eastern Gujarat, Kerala, Northeast India, Sikkim, and the northern reaches of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands can anticipate light to moderate showers. In certain areas, heavy rainfall is also probable. The western Himalayan region, including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall. Konkan and Goa, along with coastal Karnataka, could also receive moderate to heavy rainfall.

    **Odisha Faces Lightning Threat**

Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall within the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rainfall, potentially accompanied by lightning, is likely in Jharkhand, including Ranchi, Dhanbad, and Jamtara, and also in Bardhaman and Hooghly in West Bengal. A warning has been issued for lightning strikes in several districts of Odisha, including Cuttack. Rain and thunderstorms are also probable in Patna and other districts of Bihar.
