Raipur’s skyline is poised for a cinematic revolution as Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the foundation for Chitrutpala International Film City and a dedicated Tribal & Cultural Convention Center in Nava Raipur. Billed as India’s first world-class film hub, this Saturday event signals Chhattisgarh’s bold entry into global entertainment.

Crafted by REL and Inderdeep Infra Limited, the project creates a comprehensive ecosystem for filmmaking, arts, and innovation across 95 acres in phase one. It fuses cinematic production with cultural preservation, business ventures, tourism, and employment, under the Tourism Ministry’s special scheme to benefit artists, craftsmen, and locals enduringly.

Hollywood-level anticipation grips the industry, with big-ticket projects including Golmaal 5 potentially shifting shoots here. IEML and EPCH’s involvement, led by Dr. Rakesh Kumar and Neeraj Khanna, promises world-class infrastructure: expansive exhibition halls, convention centers, hotels, retail marts, helipads, and facilities empowering tribal artisans, MSMEs, and youth with fresh opportunities.

Attendees comprised political heavyweights, officials, and film stalwart Anil Sharma, affirming cross-sector support. CM Sai shared, ‘This fulfills a long-standing demand to globalize Chhattisgarh’s stories. With Rs 150 crore initially and Rs 250-300 crore later, we aim for fruition in two years.’

Concessionaire Tarun Rathi envisioned a hassle-free paradise for filmmakers, equipped with top-tier technology to rival Mumbai. This isn’t merely a film city; it’s a strategic powerhouse fostering economic vitality, cultural renaissance, and sustainable development for Chhattisgarh’s future.
