On Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the architect of India’s unity, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat. The celebration of Patel’s birth anniversary serves to commemorate his crucial role in integrating the nation and reinforcing the principle of unity in diversity.

Prime Minister Modi graced the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade, witnessing a vibrant showcase of India’s collective might and cultural amalgamation through marching contingents and performances. Central to the event was the oath administered by the Prime Minister, pledging allegiance to the safeguarding of India’s unity and integrity. His commitment was clear as he stated, “I take this oath to protect the unity and integrity of our country and dedicate myself to this cause,” reinforcing the importance of national solidarity and internal security.

Before the parade, PM Modi engaged in prayer and offered floral tributes at the monumental Statue of Unity. The parade featured impressive displays from security forces, including the BSF, CRPF, and various state police departments, highlighting their dedication to national security.

In a post on X, PM Modi conveyed his respects: “India pays homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th Jayanti. He was the driving force behind India’s integration, shaping the nation’s destiny in its formative years. His dedication to unity, good governance, and public service continues to inspire generations.”

Addressing the nation via video, the Prime Minister lauded Patel as the visionary behind India’s unification.
