Bad news for Indian cricket fans as Washington Sundar is out of the New Zealand ODI series with an injury. The all-rounder’s withdrawal was confirmed after scans revealed the extent of his fitness issue. Sundar, a mainstay in India’s spin department, got injured during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match. Despite initial hopes, team doctors advised complete rest, ruling him out of the tour. Selectors are now deliberating on a like-for-like replacement, with left-arm spinners and batting all-rounders in focus. The BCCI’s squad announcement is imminent.
