    Naiduniya representative, Indore. The special court has sentenced the rapist who molested a second class boy to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The court wrote in its verdict that if leniency is shown to the rapist, it will not send a good message to the society. During the hearing, the boy changed his statement, yet the court pronounced the above sentence on the basis of evidence. It also recommended giving compensation of Rs. 40,000 to the victim.

    On 23 December 2022, the victim child reached Chandan Nagar Police Station with his relatives. He said that the accused Mohammad Sohail, resident of Indore, had misbehaved. Then he said – he will kill me. Special Judge Surekha Mishra, while passing the verdict in the case, sentenced Mohammad Sohail to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of eight thousand rupees. Special Public Prosecutor Sushila Rathore had argued on behalf of the prosecution.

    Life imprisonment for the person guilty of raping a minor

    The special court has sentenced the accused of raping a minor to life imprisonment. Along with this, a recommendation has also been made to provide compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the victim. On December 14, 2021, the Child Welfare Committee had informed the police that the victim, a resident of Naulakha, had been raped.

    The victim said that when her mother goes out for work, Sonu calls her and her younger sister and does bad things to them. He also threatened to kill both of them. District Public Prosecutor Sanjeev Srivastava said that Special Judge (POCSO Act) Savita Jadia sentenced the accused Sonu Karosia to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 4500. Additional District Public Prosecutor Sanjay Meena argued on behalf of the prosecution.
