The wheels of industrial progress are turning faster in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa and Maihar districts, thanks to decisive interventions by Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla. In a meeting packed with actionable orders, Shukla set aggressive deadlines for establishing state-of-the-art industrial parks, aiming to unlock the region’s untapped potential.

Strategically located in the mineral-rich Vindhya belt, Rewa will see a 1,200-hectare park designed for steel, chemicals, and power equipment manufacturing. Maihar, leveraging its cement cluster, will develop a 600-hectare facility for allied sectors. Key focus areas include plug-and-play infrastructure, skill development centers, and green energy integration.

Shukla’s no-nonsense approach covered everything from forest land diversions to effluent treatment plants. ‘Speed and quality cannot be compromised. Bring in global players,’ he instructed department heads. The state has already shortlisted 15 major investors, with MoUs likely in the upcoming investor meet.

This push is part of a broader strategy to decongest Bhopal-Indore hubs and promote balanced regional development. Economists predict a multiplier effect, spurring MSMEs, tourism, and real estate. Local leaders from Rewa and Maihar expressed optimism, noting improved power supply and irrigation as enablers.

As deadlines loom, the projects symbolize Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to self-reliance. Rewa and Maihar’s industrial parks are not just infrastructure—they’re gateways to economic empowerment for millions.
