After clinching victory in the final Test match against England at the Kennington Oval, the Indian cricket team made a visit to the England dressing room, a gesture that underscored the sportsmanship between the two teams. India won by a narrow margin of six runs, with every player contributing to the win. Karun Nair, a batsman, revealed that the team went to the England dressing room after the match, and he explained the reason for this act. He stated that both teams agreed that it had been a great series.

Nair noted that there wasn’t a big celebration in their dressing room immediately after the match. Instead, the Indian players visited the England dressing room for discussions with the English players, where they shared mutual appreciation for the series. England’s head coach, Brendon McCullum, called it one of the best series in recent times. Nair reflected that even though the players did not fully appreciate the series’ quality during the matches, the entire series demonstrated their achievements.

The initial Test match was in Leeds, where England won. India took the second Test, England the third, and the fourth ended in a draw. India’s victory in the fifth Test saw their bowlers excel and overwhelm the England batting lineup.

Karun Nair was part of the first three Tests but didn’t score significantly, leading to his exclusion from the fourth Test. He returned for the fifth due to an injury to Rishabh Pant, and scored 57 runs. This contributed to India’s 224 runs in their first innings. England was bowled out for 247 runs in their first innings, and India scored 396 runs in the second.

England required 374 runs for a win, but they could only manage 367. On the final day, England needed 35 runs with four wickets in hand. Siraj’s strong bowling performance helped India to win, taking 9 wickets. India will now face the West Indies in a two-match Test series in October.
