Koderma’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ national camp is proving to be a significant platform for NCC cadets to connect with India’s history of courage, particularly the events of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The 12-day camp, involving 601 cadets from various states including Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, and Jharkhand, is being conducted under the auspices of the Bihar and Jharkhand Directorate and managed by the 45 Jharkhand Battalion NCC.

A central moment of the camp’s ninth day was an electrifying motivational speech by Colonel Sanjay Kandwal (Sena Medal). A recipient of the Sena Medal for his distinguished service during the 2008 Mumbai attacks, Colonel Kandwal shared an in-depth narrative of the assaults and the successful counter-terrorism mission. He emphasized the spirit of ‘Nation First, Self Later’ that guided the security forces. Cadets were captivated by his account of the NSG’s operations, the bravery of the fallen heroes, and the immense difficulties overcome, fostering a strong sense of national pride and respect for the armed forces.

Commanding Officer Vijay Kumar (Sena Medal) formally recognized Colonel Kandwal’s impactful presentation with a memento. The day also included a National Integration Awareness Program and the exciting finals of volleyball and Kho-Kho competitions. Complementing these activities, cadets are actively engaged in preparing for a grand cultural showcase, featuring diverse performances and artistic expressions, under the guidance of the camp’s organizing team.
