Investigation Underway After Ashram Student’s Assault

A disturbing incident of sexual assault has come to light in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. The victim, a student from an ashram located in the Orchha development block, disclosed the incident after returning from her summer break. Her unusual behavior caused concern, which led to uncovering the details of the assault. Following a medical examination, the student’s pregnancy was confirmed. The management and education department promptly responded. An investigation committee was formed by the Assistant Commissioner of the Tribal Development Department to investigate the matter. The student reported that she was assaulted by a familiar acquaintance during her summer break. The incident was kept hidden due to fear and societal pressure. After receiving consent from the family, the ashram management immediately contacted the police. The police have filed an FIR against the accused under the POCSO Act. The police are currently investigating the matter, recognizing its sensitivity, and have vowed to arrest the accused and take strong action.
