Three individuals accused of spying for Israel were executed in Iran, the executions occurring in Urmia. The individuals, Idris Aali, Azad Shojaei, and Rasoul Ahmad, were found guilty of collaborating with Israel’s Mossad spy agency, and charged with smuggling explosives and plotting attacks against Iranian figures. Judicial records show the trio contacted a Mossad agent in a neighboring country, and smuggled assassination devices, which were concealed within a consignment of alcoholic beverages. Concurrently, Iranian authorities have arrested approximately 700 individuals across the country for alleged ties to Israel. This comes as the conflict between Iran and Israel continues, marked by both a truce and reports of its violation. Tensions remain high following the US’s support of Israel.
