Iran’s President Welcomes Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Defense Pact at UN, Emphasizes Regional Cooperation

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the United Nations General Assembly and expressed Iran’s support for the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He framed it as a key development in fostering a comprehensive regional security system. The agreement ensures that an attack on either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia will be treated as an attack on both, necessitating a joint response. This agreement was signed in Riyadh. Pezeshkian emphasized the deal’s importance for Muslim countries, viewing it as a foundation for enhanced cooperation in political, security, and defense within West Asia.
