At the National Space Day event held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) presented a model of the Indian Space Station (BAS) module. India plans to launch the first module of its self-built space station, BAS, by 2028, joining the exclusive group of nations with operational orbital laboratories. Presently, the International Space Station, managed by five space agencies, and China’s Tiangong space station are the two operational orbital laboratories. India plans to establish five modules of the Indian Space Station by 2035 to further its ambitions in the space sector.
