Strengthening India’s diplomatic footprint in Europe, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar convened with Luxembourg’s Grand Duke Guillaume on Tuesday. The high-level huddle in Luxembourg City comes as part of Jaishankar’s tour aimed at expanding mutual interests.

Sharing a snapshot on X, Jaishankar called the audience fortuitous, passing on warm salutations from President Droupadi Murmu. He lauded the Duke’s affinity for India and initiatives to solidify two-way relations.

In parallel talks with Foreign Minister Xavier Bettel, Jaishankar advocated for intensified synergy in fintech, space, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence. ‘We boast a strong trade base, but fintech, space, the digital sphere, and AI are compelling areas for heightened productivity,’ he observed.

Acknowledging the dynamic local Indian community, he planned an evening rendezvous. Jaishankar voiced eagerness for substantive dialogues, asserting that candid exchanges amid global flux would prove advantageous. ‘We’re not shying away from these matters,’ he affirmed.

He extended thanks to Bettel for the gracious welcome and personal endorsement of bilateral rejuvenation. This outreach reflects India’s broader strategy to forge tech-centric alliances, leveraging Luxembourg’s prowess as a financial and innovation powerhouse.

The engagements signal robust momentum, with expectations of concrete outcomes in investment, technology transfer, and policy alignment, fostering a resilient partnership framework for the future.
