Sharda Dham, a well-known religious and natural attraction situated on the Chhattisgarh-Jharkhand border, has been officially granted tourism status by the Chhattisgarh government. This move, initiated by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has led to the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board including the site in its official list of tourism destinations, a decision that has been formalized through a circular.

This status will significantly raise the profile of Sharda Dham, and facilitate the allocation of resources for promotional efforts and the development of crucial amenities for visitors.

The temple, which is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, is a center of faith and also provides essential support to disadvantaged children through free coaching and hostel facilities. Rajkumar Singh, the chairman of the Sharda Dham committee, highlighted that the institution provides free meals, accommodation, and coaching to children from Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, with the support of donors.

Approximately 30 kilometers from the Jashpur district headquarters, within the Duldula block, Sharda Dham is surrounded by dense forests and the serene sounds of the Girma River. The Saraswati temple was built through the collaborative efforts of the community, with its design inspired by the Lachlagarh Hanuman temple in Jharkhand.

Jashpur is experiencing a boost in tourism under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The investment of 10 crore rupees in the Mayali Nature Camp, the declaration of Madheshwar Mahadev as the world’s largest natural Shivling, and the planned construction of a bridge similar to the Lakshman Jhula at Kotebiradham, are vital steps in promoting the district’s tourism potential.
