A tragic incident unfolded in Jehanabad, Bihar, where an elderly man lost his life following a dispute over a mere five rupees. The incident took place in the Koko police station jurisdiction. The deceased, Mousin Alam, a 70-year-old farmer, was the victim. The murder has caused significant public anger.

In response to the killing, local residents blocked the National Highway in protest. The police eventually persuaded them to clear the blockade. The primary suspect in the murder is a vegetable market agent, Vicky Patel. Authorities believe Patel is responsible for Mousin’s death. It is customary for market committee agents to collect fees from vendors.

The elderly man was a vendor at the market, like many others. On the day of the incident, the elderly man was selling vegetables as usual. The market committee agent, Vicky Patel, requested 15 rupees as a fee. The elderly man paid 10 rupees, but Patel demanded an additional five.

When the elderly man refused to pay the extra amount, Patel allegedly punched him in the chest. The elderly man collapsed and died immediately. Patel then fled the scene. The community’s anger erupted after the death. Protesters placed the body of the deceased on the Jehanabad-Ekangsarai NH-33, blocking the road and demonstrating.

This action caused significant traffic delays. After about half an hour, government officials arrived. They assured the public that the suspect had been identified, and an arrest would be made shortly. Subsequently, the protesters agreed to end the blockade.
