Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given the go-ahead for three major road projects aimed at improving traffic flow and modernizing the transportation network in Ranchi and other key cities. The projects were presented to the Chief Minister by Sunil Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department.

    The approved projects encompass:

    * **Argora Chowk to Chapu Toli Elevated Flyover:** This flyover will span 1.75 kilometers. The design includes a 10-meter-wide elevated structure and a 7-meter-wide road below. It will incorporate drainage systems, utility ducts, aesthetic enhancements for the lower road, comprehensive lighting, and noise barriers. Its primary objective is to alleviate traffic congestion between Argora and Chapu Toli.
    * **Karamtoli to Science City Flyover and Ring Road Extension:** This project involves the construction of a 2.2-kilometer flyover, connecting Karamtoli Chowk to Science City, with a width of 10 meters, and a four-lane road extending over 5 kilometers from Science City to the Ring Road. The aim is to reduce traffic bottlenecks on the busiest roads in the capital.
    * **Ranchi Railway Station to Airport Road Upgrade:** This includes a 4.7-kilometer four-lane road with an 800-meter elevated section. It will feature pedestrian footpaths, covered cycle tracks, solar panel lighting, a greenfield corridor, gazebos, seating areas, and basic amenities. This will offer a faster route to the airport, benefitting residents of Hatia, Doranda, Hinoo, and HEC.

Chief Minister Soren has mandated the immediate preparation of Detailed Project Reports and the rapid implementation of these projects. He also directed that measures be taken to enhance traffic management in other major cities. Furthermore, he suggested exploring additional projects, such as flyovers from Harmu Mukti Dham to Radisson Blu and over the Swarnarekha River.

In addition, plans are being developed to address traffic issues in Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, and other cities, which include the Jamshedpur-Sakchi City Flyover (2.54 km), and the Daltonganj-Garhwa Alternative Corridor, designed as a circular elevated corridor to balance traffic flow. Improvements are also planned for NHAI transition points in locations like Ramgarh, Daltonganj, and Barkakana, with a focus on safety and intersection improvements.

These road projects are anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion, stimulate local employment, attract investment, and promote industrial growth. The Chief Minister underscored the importance of timely execution and periodic evaluations, highlighting these initiatives as vital to modernizing and developing Jharkhand.
