A recent incident involves the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), a major political party in Jharkhand. Their official X account, @JmmJharkhand, was hacked, leading to unauthorized posts. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is also the JMM party’s central president, has confirmed the security breach.
CM Soren used his official social media to inform the public that the JMM’s account had been compromised by malicious actors. He described the situation as a serious cybercrime and requested an immediate investigation and action from @JharkhandPolice. He also reached out to @XCorpIndia and @GlobalAffairs, asking for their support in securing the account. He hopes that those responsible will be brought to justice soon.
The hacking of the JMM’s social media account is currently a major topic of discussion, with the state’s cyber cell and tech teams under scrutiny to handle the situation effectively. This incident follows earlier attempts by cybercriminals, who had created fake social media accounts of Jharkhand DGP Anurag Gupta and senior IAS officer Manju Nath Bhajantri for fraudulent activities.
