Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren observed World Tribal Day by remembering his late father, Shibu Soren, and reaffirming his commitment to his principles. He also paid respects to the courageous ancestors of the tribal community.
On the social media platform X, Chief Minister Soren wrote about the significance of World Tribal Day. He reflected on the enduring influence of his guide, his guru, his Baba, stating that their struggles, ideas, and ideals remain a source of inspiration. He underscored that his father was a symbol of Jharkhand’s spirit, a champion of its people, and a defender of its resources.
Chief Minister Soren emphasized that tribal society has shown the path to a happy life by living in harmony with nature. He further explained that the tribal way of life is rooted in nature. He noted that his father dedicated his life to addressing the historical marginalization faced by tribal communities.
He highlighted that the World Tribal Day celebrations across the state were particularly meaningful for his father, as they served to unite the rich civilization and culture of the tribal society and to showcase tribal talent on the global stage.
He concluded by saying that the entire world is celebrating World Tribal Day. On this occasion, he salutes Baba Dishom Guru and all the brave ancestors who fought for and protected tribal identity, culture, civilization, and rights. He committed to raising the torch of tribal identity in Jharkhand and the country. He ended with the rallying cries of “Jai Johar, Jai Adivasiyat, Jai Jharkhand.”
Chief Minister Soren also emphasized that strong villages are the foundation of a strong state and a prosperous country.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren observed traditional rituals with his family on the fifth day of the traditional Shradh Karma of his father, the late Shibu Soren.
