Jharkhand is set to establish RIMS-2, envisioned as Asia’s largest super-specialty hospital. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide ₹1000 crore in financial aid for this project. This financial arrangement was detailed in a press release from Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh. The remaining funds will be allocated through the state’s planning resources. The hospital’s design and construction are nearing completion, with a groundbreaking ceremony planned in the near future. The completion of this project will make Jharkhand a primary healthcare and medical tourism destination, benefitting the state and the entire nation. As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari and the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, visited the Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, Delhi, to study its medical, management, and research operations. RIMS-2 will be based on the Amrita model. The hospital will feature a 2600-bed capacity, offering various super-specialty services, including cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, and orthopedics. The facility will include a medical college, nursing and paramedical institutes, accommodations for doctors, hostels, a stadium, a modern research center, and telemedicine units to provide integrated treatment and educational resources within the same complex.
