Four districts in Jharkhand are under a yellow alert today, July 9th, due to the prediction of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. These districts include Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, and West Singhbhum. Other areas are expected to experience mostly clear weather with some cloud cover. According to weather officials, residents should anticipate some relief from the rain on July 10th and 11th, but the weather pattern is expected to shift again from July 12th, potentially bringing more rainfall due to a cyclonic circulation. The weakening of this system is due to its movement towards northern Chhattisgarh. Additionally, a low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal suggests a high likelihood of further rainfall in the coming days. Tuesday saw Khunti recording the highest rainfall at 18 mm. Ranchi received 6 mm, Bokaro nearly 2 mm, and Jamshedpur 15 mm. Dhanbad experienced the most rainfall in the last 24 hours, with 67 mm. Farmers are advised by meteorologists to prioritize proper water drainage in their fields before planting. It’s recommended that all crops, except paddy, be sown on ridges. Farmers can also apply necessary pesticides once the rain ceases and the sun emerges.
