A fresh weather bulletin from Ranchi’s meteorological center warns of light rains hitting eight Jharkhand districts on February 3-4, alongside notable temperature variations. Triggered by a western disturbance-induced low-pressure zone, this system promises scattered showers and foggy mornings.

February 3 targets Palamu, Garhwa, Latehar, and Chatra in the northwest. On February 4, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega, and Saraikela-Kharsawan in the south will get wet. Daytime clearing is anticipated after initial fog, but minimum temps may fall 2-3°C before climbing back.

In the last 24 hours, maximums peaked at 30.8°C in Chaibasa, mins at 10.8°C. Detailed city stats: Ranchi (26.8°C/15.1°C), Jamshedpur (29.5°C/16.2°C), Daltonganj (28.8°C/11.6°C), Bokaro (27.5°C/15.1°C), Chaibasa (30.8°C/14.6°C), Khunti (28°C/12.8°C), Lohardaga (27.4°C/13.5°C), Latehar (22.8°C/11.9°C), Saraikela (29.9°C/14°C).

Ranchi experienced persistent clouds and breezy chills on Thursday, evoking winter despite calendar progress. This advisory aids planning for outdoor events, travel, and farming. With Jharkhand’s diverse topography, such events vary locally—hilly areas may see heavier fog, plains lighter drizzles.

Meteorologists note these disturbances are routine for February, bridging winter and pre-monsoon phases. Preparedness is key: carry umbrellas, watch for slick roads, and check for harvest protections. As the state adapts, this forecast encapsulates the subtle drama of seasonal transitions, keeping communities on alert.
