Ranchi is hosting the Eastern Zonal Council meeting today, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah presiding. Shah arrived in Ranchi on Wednesday night and received a traditional welcome. Babulal Marandi, Raghuvar Das, and Arjun Munda were among those present.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10:30 AM at the Radisson Blu Hotel. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with other key officials including Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Water Resources Minister Vijay Chaudhary, are in attendance. Approximately 70 people are expected to participate.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren will request a special financial package for Jharkhand and seek to recover Rs 1.36 lakh crore in outstanding dues from coal companies. The meeting will cover 20 significant agendas. Following the meeting, Amit Shah is slated to return to Delhi later in the day.
