In a recent Eastern Zonal Council meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren underscored the essential need for central government support to propel Jharkhand’s progress. He presented a comprehensive list of 31 demands, including the immediate collection of Rs 1.40 lakh crore in outstanding royalties from coal companies. He also advocated for the ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana,’ designed to provide financial assistance to women aged 18-50, the establishment of a Tribal University, and the accelerated development of infrastructure projects such as the Ranchi Metro. Additional demands were made to foster tourism, rural development and improved education and health facilities.
