Jofra Archer has been named in the England squad for the second Test against India, scheduled to be played at Edgbaston. This marks his return to Test cricket after being out of action since February 2021. Archer, 30, is keen to make a strong comeback in the red-ball format.

Archer recently participated in his first red-ball match since 2021, a game against Durham in Chester-le-Street which resulted in a draw.

The England Cricket Board announced Archer’s return on social media.

Archer missed England’s ODI series against the West Indies due to a thumb injury sustained during his IPL stint with Rajasthan Royals.
