The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) faced a significant protest today as the Jharkhand State Student Association (JSSA) led a large demonstration demanding the immediate release of results for the Food Safety Officer (FSO) and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) recruitment exams. Aspirants have been in limbo for almost two years, leading to widespread anger and a demand for accountability from the commission. The protest, held outside the JPSC office in Ranchi, was spearheaded by JSSA President Satyanarayan Shukla.

Students are deeply concerned about the two-year-long delay in publishing the FSO and CDPO examination results. The JSSA has labeled this delay as indicative of administrative inertia and a serious lapse in the commission’s responsibilities, impacting the career prospects of numerous candidates. Despite repeated efforts by the association to seek clarification, including multiple memorandums and meetings with the JPSC secretary over the past 24 months, students report receiving only hollow assurances. The JSSA has accused the JPSC and government bodies of creating confusion by passing the buck.

From the protest site, President Satyanarayan Shukla issued a strong statement: “For two years, JPSC has been holding the FSO and CDPO results hostage, playing with the futures of thousands. The students are tired, their families are anxious, and the commission offers no real answers.” He declared, “We demand the results be released without further delay. Our protest will continue without pause until justice is served.” Shukla characterized the movement as a crucial stand for fairness and transparency in public sector recruitment.

The demonstration saw an impressive turnout, with students representing all 24 districts of Jharkhand uniting under a single banner. Their unified call was clear: “Publish FSO-CDPO results now – or provide justification!” The student body presented five core demands to the JPSC, which include the swift declaration of FSO and CDPO exam results, a public report explaining the reasons for the delay, assigning responsibility to the officials accountable for the delay, ensuring a completely transparent process for results and evaluations, and mandating time-bound schedules for all future recruitment processes.

The JSSA has pledged to continue its agitation until the results are declared and has indicated that a series of further actions are being planned. The association is firm in its commitment to defending the rights of students and has issued a direct challenge to the JPSC to either release the results or take decisive action against those responsible for the protracted delay.
