Kanker District: 50 Naxals, 32 Women, Surrender with 39 Weapons

Security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district have achieved a significant success with the surrender of 50 Naxal cadres, including 32 women. The surrender ceremony, held at the Kamtera camp of the Border Security Force’s 40th Battalion, also saw the deposition of 39 weapons. Prominent figures among the surrendered were senior Maoist commanders Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam, along with five DVCM-rank and 21 ACM-rank operatives. This mass surrender represents a considerable weakening of the Naxal network in the Maad region and provides a morale boost for ongoing operations. Following this, security agencies anticipate a further wave of surrenders, with around 120 cadres expected to disarm in Bijapur by Thursday. Intensified community outreach aims to encourage more Naxals to return to mainstream society.
