    Announcement of Rs 50 lakh for Karma Akhara construction in village Kandora

    Inauguration of Rautia Samaj Community Hall

    Raipur October 19, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnudeo Sai today attended the Mahasammelan (Sohrai Karma Festival 2025) organized by the All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad, Provincial Branch Chhattisgarh in village Kandora in Jashpur district as the chief guest. On this occasion, he inaugurated the community hall of Rautia Samaj constructed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh in Kunkuri and performed the foundation stone laying for the construction of Rautia building to be built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh in Gram Panchayat Kandora.

    On the demand of the society, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh for the construction of Karma Akhara in village Kandora and Rs 25 lakh for the approach road to Rautia Bhavan in Raipur. He paid homage by garlanding the portraits of the brave martyrs Bakhtar Sai and Mundal Singh of the Rautia society on the stage.

    In his address, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudeo Sai said that the Karma festival is a symbol of our ancient and glorious tradition, which all communities celebrate together. This festival connects us with our cultural roots and also teaches us respect and reverence for nature. He said that traditions like Ekadashi Karma and Dussehra Karma are deeply embedded in our culture. These festivals serve to unite society.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is rapidly implementing the guarantees of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Immediately after the formation of the government, in the very first cabinet meeting, approval was given for 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In the direction of women’s empowerment, women are being provided financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month through the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. The government has increased the rate per standard bag to Rs 5500 to increase the income of Tendu leaf collectors.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that on the lines of Developed India, the state government is committed to making Chhattisgarh developed by the year 2047. Urging people to adopt Vocal for Local, he said that buying indigenous goods will not only strengthen the country’s economy but also encourage local artisans and entrepreneurs.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the state government is working rapidly towards Naxal eradication. Just two days ago, 210 Naxalites surrendered and returned to the mainstream.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai said that for the expansion of health services in the district, a Medical College, a Naturopathy and Physiotherapy Center, a Government Nursing College, and a Government Physiotherapy College will be established, which will provide education and employment opportunities to the local youth.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai performed traditional worship of the branch of the Karam tree at the Karma Puja site located in the Ambagicha of the Middle School playground, praying for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the state. After this, he enthusiastically danced around the branch of the Karam tree, keeping rhythm with the Karma dance troupe by hanging a ‘Mandar’ around his neck. His wife, Smt. Kaushalya Sai, and family members were also present on this occasion.

    Sohrai Karma Festival: Cultural Identity of the Rautia Society

    Sohrai Karma Festival is basically a traditional festival celebrated by the Rautia society on the occasion of Govardhan Puja. On this day, the new crop is brought home after performing Pooja rituals with full विधि-विधान. In this grand event organized in village Kandora, dancers from a total of 52 groups from various districts of Chhattisgarh as well as Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal participated. The colorful presentations of diverse folk cultures and traditional dances filled the entire atmosphere with joy and festivity.

    On this occasion, Member of Parliament Shri Radheshyam Rathia, National President of All India Rautia Samaj Vikas Parishad Shri O. P. Sai, National Vice President Shri Damodar Singh, National General Secretary Shri Azad Singh, Central Organizing Secretary Shri Bhubneshwar Kesar, Central Women Member Smt. Uma Devi, along with other office bearers of the society and a large number of dignitaries were present.
