The SBI branch in Chadachan, Karnataka, was the scene of a high-stakes robbery. Three masked men, impersonating military personnel, executed the heist, escaping with approximately Rs 20 crore in gold and Rs 1 crore in cash. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the armed individuals entered the bank and took control of the premises. Bank staff, including the manager, were tied up and confined to a washroom. Customers present during the robbery were also restrained. The robbers coerced the branch manager into opening the cash vault. After securing the loot, they fled in a Suzuki EVA vehicle that had a fake number plate, with their destination being Pandharpur, Maharashtra. Police, led by Vijayapura SP Laxman Nimbargi, are currently investigating the robbery and searching for the perpetrators.
