Kejriwal Alleges Modi Government Sacrificing Farmers to Benefit American Interests

Arvind Kejriwal, speaking at a press conference in Ahmedabad, accused the Modi government of betraying Indian farmers by waiving the import duty on American cotton. He stated that this move has made American cotton cheaper, putting Indian farmers at a disadvantage. He predicts that Indian farmers will be forced to sell their cotton at prices as low as ₹900 per 20 kgs, potentially leading to financial ruin and suicides. Kejriwal alleged that the government is making these decisions to please Trump and benefit certain industrialists. He demanded the re-imposition of the 11% import duty, a Minimum Support Price of ₹2100 per 20 kg for cotton, and subsidies on seeds and fertilizers. He also brought up the issue of diamond workers and how they are also suffering because of the US tariffs.
