South Africa’s tour of England has been further complicated by an injury to Keshav Maharaj, a left-arm spinner, who was ruled out of the first T20I because of a groin strain. Captain Aiden Markram revealed Maharaj was initially set to play but was withdrawn due to the injury. Corbin Bosch was brought in as his replacement. Maharaj had recently returned to the T20I team. Lungi Ngidi is also out, with a hamstring injury sidelining him for the entire T20I series; he will return home. Nandre Burger is available to join the squad from the second T20I. The team also lost David Miller, who suffered a hamstring strain. Positive news includes the return of Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, and Lizaad Williams to the team. Rabada bowled after recovering from an ankle injury, Jansen played two overs after thumb surgery, and Williams returned from knee surgery. The South African team is facing a challenge in this series due to the unfortunate injuries.
