Shashank Dwivedi, Khajuraho: Lokaranjan, a national festival of traditional arts, is being organized at the Khajuraho Dance Festival complex in collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Government Culture Department, District Administration and South Central Region Cultural Center, Nagpur. The function was started with Holi, Peacock and Charkhula dance of sticks and flowers by Vandana Shri and friends from Uttar Pradesh. Artists performed on songs like 100 kg flowers with flowers, Holi Khele Raghuveera…, Braj Me Khele Hori Rasiya.
After this, Dinesh Jangde and his friends presented Panthi dance of Chhattisgarh. Panthi is a traditional dance of the Satnami caste of Chhattisgarh. On any date or festival, Satnami establish Jaitkham and dance and sing in a circle around it. Panthi dance starts with the praise of the gods. The main subject of Panthi songs is the character of Guru Ghasidas. Along with the spiritual message, Panthi dance songs also have the importance of human life. The name Panthi dance has been identified with the sect of Guru Ghasidas.
Lalit Usendi’s group presented Gedi dance
After this, Gedi dance was presented by Lalit Usendi and friends, Chhattisgarh. Nawakhani, Jaad, Jatra and Sesha are the main festivals of Muria tribe. Everyone is equally skilled in dance and song. Kaksar is a religious dance song. Kaksar festival occurs once a year. The song sung on this occasion is called Kaksar Pata. This happens at the religious place of the village. It is believed among the Muria people that Lingodev (Shankar) had eighteen musical instruments. He gave all the instruments to the Muria people. After that Muria sings and plays in Kaksar with all the available instruments out of eighteen to please Lingodev.

At night the deity is decorated and danced by the youth throughout the night. During the dance, young men tie brass or iron bells around their waists. They dance with umbrellas in their hands and decorations on their heads. The Gedi dance, which the Muria people call Ditong Patach, is performed on a wooden Gedi. There is only dance in this, no songs are sung. Gedi dance is a highly dynamic dance. Ditong Gedi is the main dance of Ghotul from the point of view of dance art form.
