Aamir Khan has responded to the criticism regarding his late reaction to the Pahalgam terror attack. He shared his feelings about the tragedy and explained his reason for not immediately commenting on social media.

Khan called the incident “cruel” and “cowardly.” He stated, “The terror attack was cruel. It only demonstrates the terrorists’ cowardice that they entered our country and fired bullets on common men. You or I could’ve also been there. They asked their religion and then fired bullets. What does that mean?” Khan emphasized that his absence from social media did not equate to a lack of concern.

He also recognized India’s military action. “That was an attack not only on our nation, but also on our unity. They’ve already got a befitting response from our country.” Khan then stated that those responsible for the attack are not Muslims, as their actions contradict Islamic teachings. “No religion asks you to kill people. I don’t consider these terrorists Muslims because it’s written in Islam that you can’t kill any innocent human, can’t strike a woman or a child. They’re going against the religion by doing what they are doing.”

Khan’s upcoming film is also facing challenges, as the CBFC has asked for cuts which he has refused. The film, directed by R.S. Prasanna and starring Genelia Deshmukh, is a remake of the Spanish film Champions (2018) and is set to release on June 20, 2025.
