A violent incident in Korba, Chhattisgarh, saw a young woman stabbed in the chest by her ex-boyfriend. The attack occurred on Saturday, June 7th, in Dingapur Riksha Para. The victim and her mother went to the house of Rahul Sarathi (19), the ex-boyfriend, to ask him to leave the girl alone, which led to a fight. The mother was also hurt trying to protect her daughter.
The Rampur police station is handling the case. Rahul had a history of visiting the girl’s home. He would often find fault with her and physically assault her due to his unfounded suspicions. The girl ended the relationship after a year of his behavior, but he continued to harass her. The victim stated that Rahul threatened her and her mother even after getting out of jail.
The minor girl stated that Rahul frequently came to her house, verbally abused her, and physically assaulted her. He said that since he had been defamed because of her, she could not leave him. She also said that Rahul had previously attacked her face, requiring stitches. This time, she suffered chest injuries.
Rahul was unemployed. He has threatened the girl again, saying he would harm her after getting out of jail, and that she couldn’t belong to anyone else. Rahul’s father works in the health department. The victim has multiple injuries on her body. The police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint and are investigating.
