    Ranchi. Assistant Sub Inspector Krishna Sao shot himself with his service revolver at Karaikela police station in West Singhbhum (Chaibasa) district of Jharkhand on Wednesday morning. The police station colleagues immediately took him to the health center in Karaikela, where the doctor declared him dead. After receiving information about the incident, top officers have reached the spot. The matter is being investigated. The reason for suicide has not been known. It was told that at around eight in the morning there was chaos in the police station due to the sound of gunshot.

    When the policemen ran, they found the ASI lying on the ground soaked in blood. In the last one year, incidents of death of 11 police, paramilitary and army personnel due to suicide or firing from their own weapons have been reported in Jharkhand. On July 25, a soldier named Ashish Kumar shot himself at the CRPF 22nd Battalion camp located at Sheela OP in Simaria police station area of ​​Chatra district. He was a resident of Sant Ravidas Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh.

    In the last week of July, soldier Pramod Singh, posted at Karamdih picket of Chhipadohar police station area of ​​Latehar district, died due to firing from his own weapon. On June 18, Sanjeet, a CISF jawan, committed suicide after strangulating his wife to death in Sector 8 of Harla police station area of ​​Bokaro. On May 31, 31-year-old district police constable Vikas Kumar, posted at Hazaribagh DIG residence, shot himself while on duty. He died on the spot.

    On February 6, a soldier named Kailash Chand Mehra committed suicide by hanging himself at the CRPF 190 battalion camp in Chatra. He was a resident of Lohri village in Narsinghpur district of Madhya Pradesh. In the month of November 2023, Satyajit Kachhap, posted at Kolebira police station in Simdega district, shot himself. On November 24, an Army soldier resident of Uttarakhand committed suicide by hanging himself in Argora police station area of ​​Ranchi. In October 2023, Jharkhand Police Havildar Lalan Paswan, posted in Pakur, committed suicide.
