Kuldeep Dwivedi, an accomplished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the Jharkhand cadre, has been designated as a Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). This information was made public through a notification released on Tuesday by the Department of Personnel and Training. Dwivedi will assume the role of Joint Director. His term is slated to conclude on January 17, 2026, assuming the full completion of his five-year deputation, or until further directives are given.
Parallelly, C. Venkata Subba Reddy, an IPS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre (2007 batch), presently holding the position of DIG in the CBI, has been appointed to the position of Joint Director. His tenure will extend until October 29, 2029, or until the end of his five-year deputation, or until new directives are issued. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted approval for the appointments of the two senior IPS officers as Joint Directors in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), as outlined in the notification from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
