About 40 lakh women are getting benefits in MP. So far, a grant of Rs 579 crore has been given. Gas connections in the name of men will not be accepted.

The benefit of the scheme will be available only to those women in whose name LPG collection was at the time of the launch of the scheme. At present, the difference amount is being given as grant to provide LPG cylinders to 40 lakh women in the state for Rs 450.
Beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme are included
Before the assembly elections, the then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had implemented a scheme to provide LPG cylinders for Rs 450 to women covered under the Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana. Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana were also included in this.
Plan just for dear sister
To take advantage of the scheme, many consumers got the connection in the name of women instead of their own names, but this will not be accepted. Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput says that the scheme is only for Ujjwala Yojana and Chief Minister Ladli Behna. If the LPG connection is in the name of men, it will not be accepted.
Instructions given to collectors
After the implementation of the scheme, a large number of cases of transfer of connections have come up. In view of this, all district officials have been instructed to ensure that the connection should be in the name of the woman only.
It is noteworthy that a grant of Rs 579 crore has been given from July 2023 to March 2024. A grant of Rs 52.44 crore is yet to be given for April and May 2024. For this, the government has now implemented the LPG Assistance Scheme (Ujjwala) and LPG Assistance Scheme (Non-Ujjwala).
Now, through this, the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department will pay the subsidy amount to the oil companies. The companies will transfer the subsidy amount directly to the accounts of women.
