Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the Startup India mission’s decade-long journey, describing it as a revolution that has brought fulfillment to millions of dreamers. The flagship program has catalyzed an unprecedented surge in entrepreneurship, reshaping India’s economic landscape.

During his address, Modi painted a vivid picture of transformation. ‘A decade ago, starting a business was a herculean task; today, it’s a launchpad for success,’ he noted, attributing this shift to proactive government interventions.

Statistics underscore the impact: 1.17 lakh DPIIT-recognized startups, 100+ unicorns, and over 1 crore direct and indirect jobs. Initiatives like Fund of Funds, tax holidays for three years, and single-window clearances have been instrumental.

Diverse sectors from edtech to spacetech have flourished, with a special emphasis on women and SC/ST entrepreneurs receiving dedicated support. PM Modi spotlighted how startups have driven digital inclusion during the pandemic.

Visioning the next phase, he revealed plans for AI-focused accelerators and export promotion councils. ‘Startups are the architects of New India,’ Modi motivated.

While challenges like valuation dips persist, the ecosystem’s adaptability is commendable. India’s startup story is a testament to policy innovation meeting youthful ambition, poised for exponential growth.
