KL Rahul’s performance in the Leeds Test was nothing short of spectacular, as he scored a magnificent century in India’s second innings. Rahul’s 137-run knock helped India to reach 364 runs in their second innings, setting England a target of 371. This century was Rahul’s ninth in Test cricket.

This achievement saw Rahul break multiple records. He now has three Test centuries in England, which is the most by any Indian opener. This puts him ahead of Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Merchant, Ravi Shastri, and Rahul Dravid.

Additionally, with five Test centuries as an opener in SENA countries, Rahul is now second only to Sunil Gavaskar in this regard. He has also surpassed Saeed Anwar, who had four centuries in SENA countries.

Overall, KL Rahul is the fifth-highest Indian century-maker in SENA nations, while Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 17 centuries. Rishabh Pant also had a notable performance, scoring his 8th Test century, finishing with a total of 118 runs. Rahul and Pant’s combined efforts resulted in a match-winning partnership of 195 runs. By the end of Day 4, England had scored 21 runs without losing a wicket, but India was still ahead by 350 runs.
