In a recent TV9 discussion held in Purnia, Bihar, prior to the upcoming elections, JDU leader and Minister Leshi Singh addressed the political climate. Discussions included how the JDU’s partnership with the BJP on the Waqf law would affect the party within the Seemanchal region. Singh’s response highlighted the importance of the work that the party has done, and how the public is impacted by it.

Concerning the Waqf law, Singh highlighted the justice-oriented and impartial approach of the government under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bihar. She referenced the Purnia region as an example of the Chief Minister’s dedication to providing equitable development for all. The party focuses on its work and seeks votes based on this. She also mentioned that the party receives consistent support from the public.

Singh also addressed accusations regarding her relationship with those affiliated with ‘Bahubali’. She stated that these were false claims, and that her priority is working day and night for the people, who trust in the administration. Singh highlighted the contrast between the current government and the previous one, which she claimed had favored certain groups. She emphasized that the current government ensures justice and that the public holds the ultimate power in a democracy.

Regarding RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s visit to the Purnia Medical College, Singh stated that if Yadav had assessed the hospital’s situation when he was Health Minister, it would have demonstrated his commitment to improving healthcare. She implied that his visit was politically motivated. Singh criticized him for not informing the hospital administration and the subsequent problems that arose. She added that some of the people with the patients were wrongly categorized as patients.

When asked about the JDU’s perceived weakness in the Purnia region, Singh admitted that electoral outcomes change, but they focus on improvement. She restated their goal to gain public support in the upcoming elections. She said that there are many factors in elections, and the party will be focusing on the Purnia region.
